New Trier // Build Your Own Adventure
New Trier Township High School District 203 is a four-year high school district with campuses in the Northern Chicago suburbs of Northfield and Winnetka, Illinois. New Trier serves the North Shore Chicago suburban communities of Glencoe, Kenilworth, Northfield, Wilmette, Winnetka and portions of Glenview and Northbrook. The school district approached us about producing a storytelling-based branding video for their district. The purpose of the video was to introduce community members, incoming freshman and their parents to the opportunities that are available at New Trier.
Because there are about 4,000 students in the school district, it was important for us to illustrate the stories of several students who identified their skillset, carved their own paths (with guidance from the school), and flourished in their community. We conducted several pre-production interviews with students and staff to identify who’d have the strongest stories and narrowed the list down to four.
We filmed everything over the course of three days at New Trier’s Northfield and Winnetka campuses. We also filmed inside an airplane hangar at Waukegan National Airport and flew inside the plane with one of the students!
The video was distributed on social media, the school’s website, and is being shown during freshman orientation.
