Youth Of the Year Event Highlight


The Chicago Youth of the Year event is hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago at Navy Pier. The event was emceed by Bill Kurts and speakers included Mayor Rahm Emanual. We filmed with our DSLR video cameras and edited several hours of footage into this highlight video. After the event, we also provided various video clips of the event to chicago news media. Videos of the event and candidate profile video were mailed on thermally-printed DVDs that also contained custom “thank yous” for donors.

Samaritan Counseling Center // Nonprofit Event



Samaritan Counseling Center Northwest is a Barrington, Illinois-based nonprofit organization that provides counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups.

The organization was holding a holiday fundraising event at The Garlands of Barrington. Our client wanted the video we produced to not only highlight the event but also to serve as a branding film for the organization.

In addition to filming with our High Definition DSLR video cameras, post production included the organization’s graphics. We create a full screen logo animation at the end and lower third graphics, which complimented the logo design. We also setup a YouTube channel for them, which will host future video content.

OX BOX // South Georgia Island Case Study


South Georgia is part of a series of islands in the Southern Atlantic Ocean (near the South Pole). It’s home to many birds, seals, penguins, and other amazing creatures. The only people who live on South Georgia Island are scientists and government officials.

The South Georgia Heritage Trust is a nonprofit organization based in Scotland. Their main mission is to preserve South Georgia’s natural and historical heritage. Throughout the 19th & 20th centuries, sealers & whalers used the island as a home base. Although whalers departed the island when whaling operations ceased in the 1960s, they left behind a devastating legacy that to this day scientists are still trying to reverse.

When sealers and whalers docked their boats on the island, the Norway (brown) rat was introduced to this bird sanctuary. It was estimated at one point that hundreds of thousands or even millions of rats inhabited the island. Many of the birds who used the island to nest have fallen prey to the rats. Consequently, the bird population has declined at a dangerous rate.

The South Georgia Heritage Trust worked with scientists on a multi-million dollar project to blanket the entire island with rat bait. The Trust contacted Bell Laboratories in Wisconsin to help develop a plan for eradication of the invasive species.

One of the project’s many challenges included how to physically get the bait from Wisconsin to the South Pole; a journey of around 10,000 miles across land, sea, and rugged terrain in some of the most challenging weather conditions. Enter OX BOX, a heavy duty industrial packaging company based in the Chicago suburb of Addison, Illinois. The company was just in the midst of developing a weatherproof container that could also be compostable. Timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

OX BOX was contacted by a trade magazine who wanted to do a feature on the project. As part of their magazine feature, they also wanted to include a digital video component on their website that would compliment the article. We were hired to produce the video.

We coordinated with folks at the South Georgia Heritage Trust to interview their lead scientist, Anthony (Tony) Martin. This interview was filmed for us in Scotland by an amazing local crew. The footage was shipped to our suburban Chicago studio; along with footage that was filmed while a documentary crew was following the team during their mission. We also coordinated local production at the OX BOX facility; where we filmed an interview with the company’s President and various b-roll of their operations.

We produced the piece, combined it with music, lower third motion graphics, and a final graphic animation of their company’s logo.
