Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago is a
Chicago nonprofit organization that provides after school activities for Chicago youth. This video production series focuses on two stories: the problem that exists in Chicago neighborhoods and the solution that this
Chicago nonprofit provides.
In the first video, we featured three main characters:
-A TV news stringer who knows Chicago streets and the violence that plagues them all too well
-An Author and Journalist who writes about race and poverty and is also the Producer of a documentary
-A Club Director who talks about what she sees around her club
The video we produced followed the news stringer at night driving through the streets of Chicago, a very candid interview with the Club Director about the challenges her club’s kids face and a sobering reminder about the persistence of Chicago’s violence from the Author and Journalist.
The first video was shown to an audience of around 500 people at Navy Pier. After that, the second video played:
After the second video played, they did a paddle raise and more than $1 million was raised to help the
Chicago nonprofit! To watch a video recap of the event itself,
