High Jump | Fundraising Video

High Jump is a two-year, tuition-free academic enrichment program for rising seventh graders in Chicago. The Chicago nonprofit teaches students who demonstrate strong academic potential, value learning, and have dreams of excelling academically.

Through this video production, we were able to tell the stories of three exceptional High Jump students and how the Chicago nonprofit has helped them excel academically.

Filming Anaitzel’s story at Latin Campus

Our initial plan was to capture the three student stories over the course of three separate seasons. That was the plan but this year, Fall was short and quickly turned into Winter. So, two of the students were filmed during what we’ll affectionately call the “colder months” in Chicago.

Filming the twins (Derrick and Justin) at University of Chicago Laboratory Schools

We filmed at three of the nonprofit’s Chicago campuses: Francis W. Parker, Latin School of Chicago, and University of Chicago Lab Schools. All filming was done with the RED Epic Dragon Cinema Camera for that extra movie-like look!

We started planning for this project about six months ago and it’s incredibly rewarding to see the final product come together. Even more amazing is that our client was able to raise over $1 million at their annual gala where this video premiered! This was $70K over their fundraising goal and an increase of over $200K from last year’s benefit. This is the highest amount ever raised in the history of this nonprofit!

Maine Township // School Referendum Videos

Maine Township High School District 207 is a school district located in the Chicago suburbs. About 6,400 students (grades 9-12) attend the school district’s three schools. Faced with an aging infrastructure, outdated learning environments, and escalating building safety issues, the school district was faced with asking taxpayers to help with the total costs of the project, which were estimated at $240.7 million. A portion of the costs would be paid through school district reserves while a $195 million bond referendum would cover the rest.

School district officials wanted to help educate their community about the project’s plans and why the project was needed now. Through the help of video, we were able to interview various stakeholders and show why the upgrades were needed. Since the referendum addressed several different need areas, we came up with a plan of developing a series of videos. Each video would focus on a certain topic: Infrastructure, Instructional Settings and Safety & Security. A fourth video provided an overview of the entire project.

The videos were distributed online through social media and the school district’s website and shown to various community groups during presentations. All videos were captioned for hearing impaired and foreign language viewers.

In the end, 61% of voters voted “yes” to the district’s $195 bond referendum, based on unofficial results. We are very excited that we could help District 207 with this important project. Hinsdale School District 86 // Referendum Video

Hinsdale Township High School District 86 needed a video produced to educate community members on why they planned to include a referendum vote on their next election’s ballot. We worked with school administration to identify the shots we’d need to film and the people we needed to interview.

Hinsdale Video Production

Over the course of three days, we filmed various ground and aerial shots and interviews at their two campuses (in Hinsdale and Darien). All of the footage was edited and produced into a video that was shared on the school’s website, social media, and shown at the school board meeting.
