Marissa + Mike // River Roast Chicago

Marissa and Mike met while working in television news in Buffalo, NY. Marissa was a general assignment reporter while Mike was a producer. Marissa and Mike both moved to Chicago; where Marissa continues in the news business as an anchor/reporter at a local Chicago television station. It was only fitting the city they love was incorporated so lovingly into their special day.

For starters, their ceremony/reception venue was beautiful. The patio at River Roast (formerly Fulton’s on the River) served as the perfect backdrop overlooking the Chicago River. Between the ceremony and reception, guests were given a surprise trolley tour of the city; taking them to places that had special meaning to Marissa and Mike…like the spot where Mike popped the big question at Daley Plaza.

We then drove around with the bridal party to Millennium Park, the West Loop meat market, and a pub to film various scenes. Their day was perfect in every way. Marissa and Mike, thank you so much for asking us to film your day. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together!

Jilllian + Matthew // St Charles + Wayne

If I had to describe Jillian and Matthew’s wedding day in just one word, I’d have to pick “spectacular.” Everything about their day was the epitome of romance and glamour. It was amazingly beautiful. We were so honored to be a part of it.

The day started with Jillian and her bridesmaids getting ready at the father of the bride’s home in Wayne. The group was so happy to be together for such a special occasion, and that set a joyous tone for the rest of the day.

The couple exchanged vows before their 300 wedding guests at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in St. Charles. Jill and Matt chose to write their own wedding vows, which added a personal and emotional touch to the ceremony. It was hard to find a dry eye in the church!

From there, the couple and their guests headed back to Jillian’s father’s estate in Wayne for one fabulous celebration. Chandeliers and roses were draped underneath the white tent, which was exquisitely decorated by Heffernan Morgan Ronsley Event Design and Production. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the expansive grounds of the home and danced to the music by The Chicago Players. As a surprise to the couple, buckets of confetti dropped from the ceiling, ramping up the excitement on the dance floor. Jill and Matt departed their wedding along a trail of sparklers, and went on to their “Happily Ever After Party.”

It was a pleasure to capture the Jill and Matt’s wedding day on film, and of course we always enjoy working alongside Chicago’s favorite wedding planners, Big City Bride!
