Three days of amazing Indian culture wrapped into one trailer. After seeing much of our previous South Asian cinematic wedding film work, Rutvi and Milan contacted us. They loved our style and the way we captured the beautiful Indian wedding traditions.

On the first night, their Mehendi celebration and musical event took place at the Waterford Banquet and Conference Center in Elmhurst, Illinois, where we are one of their preferred vendors for wedding videography. Their beautiful Moroccan-themed room, was designed by Dream Occasions in Hanover Park, Illinois. On the second day, they had their Garba/Raas celebration. The third day culminated in a beautiful wedding ceremony, which was also at the Waterford Banquet and Conference Center.

We frequently see couples exchanging cards or gifts in the morning, but we haven’t seen it done with an iPad. One of Rutvi’s wedding gifts to Milan was an iPad. In the iPad, she typed a beautiful note to Milan. We captured a portion of that letter in this trailer. Rutvi also came up with the idea to do a first look (in front of the mandap). For the first time on their wedding day, Rutvi and Milan were able to see each other. It was a beautiful moment we were able to capture.

Rutvi and Milan also came to us with the idea of creating a concept film about their first date, which was shown at their reception. This film, which was entirely scripted by the couple, is a hilarious look at how that day went. The film continues to include engagement pictures of them together, which were taken by Kyle Flubacker, and what it might look like for their future. Enjoy!

Three amazing days rolled into one epic trailer. Parul and Mirab’s wedding weekend was breathtaking. The rich cultures and traditions of a Hindu marriage ceremony were evident throughout all three days.

The first day was their Sangeet, which was held at The Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Usually held two or three days before the wedding, the Sangeet is considered a joyous occasion where friends and family of the couple perform dances to celebrate the upcoming wedding. During the Sangeet, a Mehendi party with henna artists also took place. The intricate henna motifs are meant to tempt the bride’s husband.

On the day before the wedding, Parul and Mirab had a Pithi. During this cleansing ceremony, family members rub a yellow paste all over the bride and groom’s face, arms, and legs. It is believed that the paste softens and whitens the skin so that they will be radiant for the wedding. The paste is made out of chickpea flour, turmeric, rose water, and other ingredients. The bride and groom traditionally hold separate ceremonies. Parul’s Pithi ceremony was held in Orland Park, Illinois, while Mirab’s Pithi ceremony took place at the Bartlett Community Center in Bartlett, Illinois.

The final day is where the entire wedding ceremony takes place. The day starts off with the groom’s procession, or Barat. During the Barat, Mirab was surrounded by fireworks and processed with the baraati on a horse and carriage to the wedding ceremony, which was held at The Meadows Club. What follows next is a beautiful cultural marriage ceremony followed by a reception. We used three cameras, including a Steadicam, and a fourth camera served as a live feed to several screens throughout the banquet hall.

We couldn’t help but mention the amazing peacock-themed décor and design work by Yanni Design Studio. All of this would not have been possible without the hard work and attention to detail by their amazing wedding coordinators, Nirali and Chirag of Symplify Event Designs. Parul and Mirab, we hope you enjoy this trailer as a wonderful memory of your wedding weekend!

We also were able to produce a Love Story for the couple. This concept film was scripted and conceptualized by Parul and Mirab. They came to us with the idea of creating a short film with no dialogue about how they first met. We’re told the story is based on true reality. This short film played at their reception before a crowd of over 500 people. It was a huge hit!
