When Brian first contacted us about filming his surprise proposal to Katie, we couldn’t have been more excited about the idea. Brian bought the ring three months ago and wanted to make his proposal special. For the past six years, Katie had been asking to stay at the Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; a 100-year-old warehouse turned into a antique collector’s dream. Their loft-style guest rooms created the perfect backdrop for Brian’s proposal.
With the help of family, Brian was able to fill one of the rooms with a custom-made sign, vintage lights, candles, flowers, and pictures of their years together hanging from the ceiling with clothespins on a string. Katie spent the day with her Mom and was to come back and meet Brian at the end of the day and celebrate her birthday with family. Katie and her Mom came back from the salon, but Katie says she knew something might be up when Katie’s Mom said she had other plans and recommended to see Brian in a random room.
We setup five small unmanned video cameras in the room and gave Brian a microphone to wear for the proposal. After the proposal, Katie joked that she’s glad the proposal was on video because everything Brian said was a blur. Katie, we’re glad we were there too! May you both have a wonderful engagement. Please let us know when you pick your wedding date. We’d love to film it!
