Instructions for Mac

This short video tutorial will walk you through the steps to downloading the digital wedding files from your USB thumb drive onto your Mac and viewing them on your portable device.

First thing we’re going to do is download your wedding film and trailer video files onto your computer.

Just grab the USB thumb drive and insert it into the USB port on your computer. If you’re using a desktop, the USB port should be located in the front of your Mac’s hard drive tower. If you are using a laptop, the USB port should be on the side or back. If you’re not sure where the USB port is on your particular computer, just consult your owner’s manual. Once you have inserted the thumb drive into your computer, the USB Drive should pop up on your desktop. Let’s go ahead and click on that drive to view the contents.

A new window should open showing the contents of the USB thumb drive. There should be two .MP4 files…one is called “Trailer.mp4” and the other is called “weddingfilm.mp4”. Those are your trailer and wedding film video films. It’s very important to take those files and drag them onto your desktop. That way, you can save a copy of the files onto your computer. You might even want to do this step on other computers. Think of it as an insurance policy; in case you lose your thumb drive. Next, we’re going to open up iTunes by double-clicking on the program. If you don’t have iTunes, just Google it and download the program.

The tricky part here is we have to see both the iTunes window AND the area on your desktop where you previously dragged the trailer and wedding film files. So, I’m going to minimize the iTunes window here. In iTunes, I’m going to open up my movies library by clicking on “Movies”. This lists all the movies you currently have in your iTunes movies library. If you don’t have any here, don’t worry. It’s totally common to not have any movies in the library.

Now click and hold the trailer video file and drag it into the iTunes movie library window…like so. Do the same with your wedding film video file.

Now, plug in your iPhone or iPad. Some computers are set to automatically sync your iTunes to your device. If your computer is set to manually sync then click on your device in the left column. Once you have chosen your device, there should be a sync button in the lower right corner of the iTunes window. Click on the sync button. It may take a few minutes to transfer the new movie files to your device. Once the sync process is complete, your device should then be ready to play your wedding film.
